English Oak with Bronze Epoxy Kintsugi

English Oak and Bronze epoxy with a rare Red Poplar burr lid.
£675.00
Description

This piece of figured English Oak (quercus robur) developed quite a few spiral cracks as it dryed, they have been filled with bronze epoxy 'Kintsugi'.  I like to make a feature of splits and cracks by filling them with metal powders mixed into two part epoxy. It’s been finished with multiple coats of an eco-friendly hardwax oil which requires no maintenance other than the occasional dusting.
The rare Red Poplar burr lid has the usual 12tpi handcut thread and corresponding English Cherry collar.

It measures 275mm H x 165mm D with a capacity of 3.2ltrs

(10 ⅞" x 6 ½".  195Cu in)
