Walnut and Spalted Holly with Aluminium Epoxy Kintsugi

English Walnut is one of my favourite woods to use, with its rich chocolate colour and easy workability it is a joy to turn.
This piece came from the tree that was badly damaged in a recent storm and the owner wanted it to be used rather than chopped up for firewood. It had some characteristic heart shake which I accentuated with some 'Kintsugi for Wood' with aluminium epoxy and finished it with several coats of an eco-friendly hardwax oil.

The Spalted Holly lid and corresponding insert has a handcut 12tpi thread which ensures a secure closure.                              It measures 250mm H x 175mm D and has a capacity of 3 litres.
