Cedar of Lebanon

The Lebanon Cedar is widely planted as an ornamental tree in parks and gardens but is native to the mountains of the Eastern Mediterranean basin, where it has great religious and historical significance to the cultures in the region. It is the national emblem of Lebanon and features on the countries flag.
It is often used for draw linings in fine furniture due to its exceptional durability and immunity to insect ravages.
This piece came from a wind damaged tree, a large branch snapped off the tree in one of the major storms we had in 2022. I used the fork knowing there would be a greater amount of figure in that section of the branch.
I filled the drying cracks with my form of Kintsugi for wood with turquoise holographic epoxy after having created some fake stitching with a 0.8mm drill.
